Frequently Asked Questions

 

How long will it take my vehicle to be shipped?

On average it will take anywhere from three to fourteen days for your vehicle to reach its destination.  Factors such as distance between pick up and delivery, traffic, weather all can affect the total length of time.

How long in advance to I need to book my vehicle transport?

It is highly recommended that you book your move at least two weeks in advance, we can move on a shorter notice, but a higher price may be applied to expedited shipments.

Will my vehicle be insured during transport?

Yes, legally all auto carriers must carry insurance, The industry minimum is $100,000.  The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration must issue carriers an MC# or US DOT#, to have proper operating authority. We recommend you ask to see a copy of their certificate of insurance for proof.

How should I prepare my vehicle for auto transport?

If you are going to a cold climate, make sure you have winterized your vehicle by adding antifreeze. Secure any loose items such as antennas.  Disconnect auto alarms and anti-theft systems. Remove any car covers, as they are not allowed.

Can I store anything in the car?

It is illegal to store items anywhere in the car.  Auto transporters do not carry a household goods shipping licenses and bonds.  Please note any items stored within the car are not covered under carriers insurance.

Will I need to have my vehicle delivered to a terminal?

A terminal is necessary only in the event there is not enough room for a truck to drop off your vehicle in its destination, because of a narrow or dead end street, or any other conditions that would not allow a truck to enter.  These terminals are fully licensed and insured, however most drivers will elect to have you meet them in a mutual area close to the drop off location that can better accommodate the transporter.

What forms of payment is accepted by vehicle transporters?

We accept Visa/Master Card but prefer to conduct our transports via COD, most drivers prefer cash, but will accept certified check or cashiers check, personal checks are accepted only by approval and by prior arrangements. 

What if my vehicle is inoperable, can it still be transported?

The vehicle can still be transported, but in most cases additional fees will apply because of the extra equipment and labor needed to transport your vehicle.  Please note, if the car is in rolling condition less fees may apply.
